Providing instruction in law since our inception in 1899, the School of Law is recognised as 8th in the UK for Law (The Times and The Sunday Times Good University Guide 2018) and 3rd in the UK for Criminology (The Guardian University Guide, 2018).

By joining our School you will have the opportunity to learn as part of a close-knit community with inspirational teachers who are passionate about their work and helping you achieve your ambitions. Outside of lectures and seminars our academic staff are engaged in research which helps to shape policy and practice, and makes a difference to people’s lives, locally and globally.

Studying in the School of Law will not only enable you to develop knowledge, but you will have access to a wide range of co-curricular opportunities which will help give you the edge when it comes to progressing your career prospects. From pro-bono work to mooting, and career mentoring to negotiating, the additional experiences at Leeds will help sharpen your skills and get you closer to achieving your career goals. Our graduates are the fifth most targeted in the UK by leading employers (High Fliers, 2017)

“Studying at the University of Leeds has enabled me to form friendships and interact with people who share my interest in criminal law from all over the world.” Hannah Gleave, LLM Criminal Justice and Criminal Law.
